GeNeuro is a Swiss biotechnology company based in the stimulating area of “Centre for New Technologies” (CTN) in Plan-les-Ouates, on the outskirts of Geneva. The company was created in 2006 with the collaboration of bioMérieux, a French company developing diagnostics and Eclosion, a Swiss start-up incubator which helps the development of projects in life sciences. Eclosion supported the creation and development of GeNeuro and housed our activities until the beginning of 2009.

In August 2008 GeNeuro obtained funding from Eclosion and Mérieux Alliance to expand its operations and advance its portfolio towards clinical development.

GeNeuro has in-licensed its initial technology from bioMérieux. It is protected by more than 20 original patents covering sequences, products and particular applications for diagnostic and therapeutic development in the field of endogenous retroviruses. GeNeuro is systematically protecting its market position and intellectual property with additional and comprehensive sets of patents.

GeNeuro SA in Geneva is the head office and it houses the corporate administrative support as well as the clinical and regulatory management.

The French subsidiary GeNeuro Innovation SAS was created in March 2009 and is located in Lyon, in the lively junction of Universities and Hospitals. It is the research centre of the company which coordinates the fundamental and preclinical research.  GeNeuro Innovation has recently obtained the status of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) awarded by the European Medicines Agency.
